Looking for a little rejuvenation in a bottle? A natural skincare product that has a long lasting silky feeling without that oily sticky feeling all day?

Something that is going to help support collagen production, nourish dehydrated and dull-looking skin.

This lightweight and easily absorbed serum is calming and rejuvenates troubled, sensitive or irritated skin.

Berries such as Black Raspberry Oil and Cloudberry (Nordic Berry) Seed Oil that only grow in the Artic regions are rich in antioxidants which help nourish and repair the skin barrier.

Oils from Manuka, Elderberry and Blue Tansy have calming, antiseptic and soothing properties to repair compromised skin. Algaktiv Restoreskin, a marine algae peptide, helps to promote collagen production for smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It smells of Magnolia and berries, with a touch of the medicinal properties of Manuka Oil and Blue Tansy Oil.

Due to its chamazulene content, Blue Tansy Essential Oil is a very dark blue in color, and has to be diluted as it has a very strong herbaceous and camphorous scent. Chamazulene is an anti-inflammatory with a history of use in the treatment of skin problems (Jakovlev et al 1983), (Ramadan et al 2006).

1. Cloudberry Oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the golden-red fruit of Cloudberries, also known as Nordic Berry (scientifically called "Rubus chamaemorus"), native to the northernmost parts of the world, from Norway to Greenland. It is rich in Vitamin C, which promotes the renewal and growth of new skin cells. It is also high in Vitamin E and cartenoids, powerful antioxidants which helps strengthen the skin's protective barrier.  For those suffering from dry, flaky skin, these oils can help seal in moisture, smoothing rough patches and giving you dewy-looking skin.

Cloudberry Seed Oil is also highly beneficial for skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis, as it has natural fatty acids Omega 3,6 and 9 which calm and hydrate dry, sensitive skin. Cloudberry Seed Oil is rich in polyphenols called ellagitannins, which are known to possess many beneficial and health-promoting properties, such as anti-bacterial and skin healing properties.

2. Black Raspberry Oil (Rubus occidentalis L.) are a special variety of the more common red raspberry that’s native to North America. They’re also known as blackcaps, wild black raspberries, or thimbleberries.

Black Raspberry Oil is a rich source of polyunsaturated fats including omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids, high in Vitamin E and rich in Vitamin A, effectively moisturizing and improving skin elasticity. It helps to regenerate skin cells and reduces wrinkles, dryness and skin lines.

It has also has strong antioxidant properties due to high levels of anthocyanins, a type of polyphenol that gives blackberries and black raspberries their inky-black color. This promotes healthy skin and blood vessels when applied topically or when fresh berries are eaten.

3. Manuka oil which has long been known for its natural healing, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties, soothes the skin whilst also fighting signs of aging.

4. Algaktiv Restoreskin, derived from a marine plankton, has been shown to rapidly increase skin elasticity and firmness by increasing collagen production, elastin and the skin's natural intrinsic growth factors.

5. Elderberry Seed Oil cold-pressed from the seeds of the Sambucus Nigra plant, is rich in fatty acids, plant sterols, flavonoids, and Vitamin E. The plant sterol mimics the skin's natural cholesterol and helps keep the skin barrier function intact, enhancing skin hydration and softness.

6. Blue Tansy Essential Oil has several benefits for skin including calming inflammation, irritation, blemishes and redness and hydrating skin that is showing signs of photo-aging such as wrinkles and dry skin.

It could also be beneficial for skin with acne or pimples as it has the monoterpene Sabinene which soothes inflammation and Alpha-Pinene which has anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Chamazulene is released after steam-distillation of the yellow flowers of Tanacetum annuum, a member of the chamomile family, giving the oils it's impressive natural blue-indigo colour.

We only use a very low percentage of this essential oil, as the smell can be over-powering in higher doses.

FAQs

Being allergic to bee venom is different to being allergic to bee-products. Propolis is made from bee's saliva and pollen, resin and plant extracts. A bee's sting contains the toxin melittin and is meant to discourage potential threats from coming close to the hive and queen bee. It is meant to induce an extremely painful and uncomfortable reaction. A bee uses it's saliva and mixes it with tree resin and pollen to make glue or propolis to patch up it's hive. Propolis exists to keep the hive safe from microbial contamination.

Spray with a toner on clean skin, then massage a few drops of an oil serum, followed by a cream to seal in the oils. Just using an oil serum on it's own will not replace the moisture in the skin. Moisture or water is contained in a cream, not a balm or oil.

A balm does not contain water, so has no preservatives or alcohol which may cause stinging on broken, raw and inflamed skin. Whan the skin is in that condition, it is generally more sensitive and reactive. A balm is also better suited for skin that needs intensive treatment with actives as it sits on the skin for longer and allows better penetration of actives. It also contain waxes such as beeswax or candelilla wax (plant version of beeswax) which will increase hydration of the skin by preventing moisture loss from the skin's surface. It acts as a natural barrier when the skin is broken and compromised. It may feel oiler on the face, so a serum or cream would be better for the face.
