PEA (Palmitoyethanolamide) is a fatty acid amide made in the body. It performs a variety of biological functions related to chronic and neuropathic pain and inflammation. These include diabetic neuropathy, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, neuropathic pain, osteoarthritis, low back pain, chronic pelvic pain, post-herpetic neuralgia, fibromyalgia, vaginal pain and neuropathic pain in stroke and MS.

To date, 20 clinical trials and nearly 2000 patients have been treated with PEA with positive results. Worldwide more than 800,000 patients have been treated with PEA. There has been no reported side-effects or medication interactions.

It was first identified by Nobel prize winner Levi-Montalcini, who described it's value in treating chronic infections and pain.

Nitric Oxide is associated with the inflammatory process, by causing vasodilation, it increases blood flow to the site of injury, which helps to remove toxins, dead cells, and bring nutrients to the cells. PEA helped to reduce Nitric Oxide levels and inflammation similar to the anti-inflammatory drug Indomethacin in a study done on rats

There are very little side-effects or interactions with other medications.

I have heard a lot about this product and have been taking now for 2 weeks. I have started to notice a slight change in my psoriatic pain in my elbows and ankles, hopefully this will improve over time.

PEA - Palmitoyethanolamide

I’d never heard of PEA until about a month or so ago. My cousin had health issues and was on assorted medications. She saw her pharmacist and it was suggested that PEA might be of benefit. Doreen mentioned her health improvements to me. I was astonished. If this was true, perhaps it would be good for me too. I’d been unwell for years and like her on various medications. At age 64 having served 37 years in the Australian Army I was worn out physically and mentally. Sick of being sick and depressed that I couldn’t do the things I wanted to I bought two bottles of PEA from The Botanical Chemist online. I took 4 capsules a day. I stayed on all my normal medications. After a week I did not feel much had changed. I’m at the end of week two now and I think it’s working. I feel stronger, have more vitality and can do more physical work. I’m walking further faster and not feeling as puffed. My muscles and joints don’t ache as much as they did a fortnight ago. I’m losing unwanted weight. I’m going to continue taking PEA and post another review in a few weeks. I truly hope PEA continues to improve my wellbeing.

P.E.A

I recommend this to everyone that suffers from chronic pain, nerve damage , inflammation. I've been on heavy duty meds for over a year for arthritis in spine hips neck etc with severe sciatic in both legs..tried everything even steroid injections in lower spine...I was becoming so toxic & inflamed & depressed as nothing worked, and the meds were doing more harm than good. My pharmacist suggested P.E.A 😁 and what a difference...I can walk properly again..like I got a new pair of legs....no sciatica... inflammation gone...fluid retention going.....arthritic fingers slowing straightening...I'm so happy these days.
Only have mild lower back ache these days but so does everyone else! I'm surprised & grateful.

Lessened Severity of Fibromyalgia Pain

I'm very grateful to my dear friend for sharing the pain relief she experienced from taking this product. I noticed, to my amazement, toward the end of the first week of taking PEA, the pain in my body (from Fibromyalgia) had lessened. The sharp cutting pain and severely tender-to-touch Fibro trigger points have diminished significantly. I find my pain is nowhere near the level it was, (bringing me to tears with it's severity, causing the simplest movement of lifting my arms to shoulder height to be almost too difficult). Whilst the pain is not 100% eliminated, I'm very thankful to Botanical Chemists for researching and compounding these natural elements into a product that has blessed me with surprising relief. I've recommended this to my dear sister who is in constant pain and hope she will try PEA.
Sincerely
Louise

Relief of TOS (Thoracic outlet syndrome)

It is fantastic, I’ve noticed a marked improvement in pain relief. My facial neuropathy in trigeminal nerve v1 area has reduced dramatically and paresthesia of last two fingers has reduced also. Paresthesia of shoulder and inflammation / tightness around traps has also reduced. It’s not a cure all but it certainly has provided a lot of relief. I’m taking 1 in morning and one in evening. If I feel tight or tingly I take 2 x 2 times a day.

FAQs

Being allergic to bee venom is different to being allergic to bee-products. Propolis is made from bee's saliva and pollen, resin and plant extracts. A bee's sting contains the toxin melittin and is meant to discourage potential threats from coming close to the hive and queen bee. It is meant to induce an extremely painful and uncomfortable reaction. A bee uses it's saliva and mixes it with tree resin and pollen to make glue or propolis to patch up it's hive. Propolis exists to keep the hive safe from microbial contamination.

Spray with a toner on clean skin, then massage a few drops of an oil serum, followed by a cream to seal in the oils. Just using an oil serum on it's own will not replace the moisture in the skin. Moisture or water is contained in a cream, not a balm or oil.

A balm does not contain water, so has no preservatives or alcohol which may cause stinging on broken, raw and inflamed skin. Whan the skin is in that condition, it is generally more sensitive and reactive. A balm is also better suited for skin that needs intensive treatment with actives as it sits on the skin for longer and allows better penetration of actives. It also contain waxes such as beeswax or candelilla wax (plant version of beeswax) which will increase hydration of the skin by preventing moisture loss from the skin's surface. It acts as a natural barrier when the skin is broken and compromised. It may feel oiler on the face, so a serum or cream would be better for the face.
