Minor fungal infection
Propolis is not only active against bacterial strains such as Staphylococcus aureus, one of the most common types of bacteria living on our skin, it is also active against fungal strains such as Candida ( C. albicans, C. glabrata, C. krusei) and Trichosporon spp. Manuka Oil (concentration between 1.5-3.3%) is also active fungal strains such as M. furfur, T.mucoides, C.albicans and C. tropicalis.
Propolis Balm applied twice a day for 2 months.
This boy's mum had previously used an anti-fungal cream combined with a mild steroid which was prescribed by a Dr, but this rash failed to heal, and kept coming back once the cream was stopped. It also stung and the boy would cry every time the cream as applied. Slowly but surely, the Propolis Balm soothed the red skin, helped the broken skin heal, and eventually the rash went away. He had molluscum contagiosum shortly after and the mum applied the Propolis Balm on it as well. He was happy to use a Balm that did not sting the skin, and mum was happy that the rash has gone after the 2 months.
