Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic auto-immune skin disease that causes red, itchy, scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbow, trunk and scalp. It tends to go through cycles, flaring up for a few weeks or months, then subsiding or going into remission. It can also affect the joints.
There are 5 types of psoriasis:
- plaque: the most common form.
- guttate: appears as small, red spots on the skin. Appears during childhood or young adulthood.
- inverse (or flexural): appears in skinfolds, such as under the breast, armpits or groin area.
- pustular: is a severe form, many white pustules surround the red skin.
- erythrodermic (or exfoliative): rare type that looks like severe burns.
Psoriatic arthritis affects the joints and skin. Scalp psoriasis affects the scalp and nail psoriasis affects the nails.

Active 8 Serum was applied 2-3 times a day, and Propolis Balm was applied once a day to the plaques psoriasis. It brought relief instantly and she noticed a big difference within the first week. The psoriasis plagues are pretty much gone and is working at keeping them away too. The other plaques on her legs and elbows are also clearing up. She had previously used topical steroids but found that they only worked temporarily and always came back as soon as she stopped using them.

My son daughter suffers for severe scalp psoriasis. We had tried topical steroids and expansive medicated shampoos and soaps. The Manuka Oil Balm applied twice a day has calmed the redness and inflammation better than any steroid and is extremely moisturising so the flaking has vastly improved.
