from 95 reviewsAfter 45 years of having psoriasis - for which I have used lots of products - I have just been diagnosed with Grover’s Disease (I know, I know, - Google it)!
My sister Pauline gave me a tube of DermaGen Propalis Balm today, and now, at 1.00am on a Melbourne morning, I am using it on some itchy new ‘spots’. It has calmed the blister and stopped the itching within 5 minutes. Thank you!
DermaGen is excellent and I am looking forward to a good nights sleep. 🐝 🙏
(And I’m taking it to my GP tomorrow).

Hands-down the best facial serum I have tried. Every morning (since using) I have woken with soft, calm and happy skin. The smell is beautiful too - so refreshing.

My 2 year old has had mild eczema since he was an infant and until now, we have been using steroid creams and heavy duty moisturisers on him to no avail. Don’t get me wrong, the steroid creams have helped but every time we stopped using them, his eczema would flare up and he would scratch himself till he bled, never giving his skin the time to properly heal. I also felt pretty guilty for continuously using medicated creams on his body.
I saw a review for the Manuka Oil Cream and gave it a go - it’s been a week and my so far, the eczema has calmed down a lot; and we haven’t used any steroid creams! My son has also stopped saying that he’s itchy and his broken skin and scabs have started healing. I’ve been really surprised as the cream has a very light, almost watery consistency yet has done more for his skin than thick balms and heavy creams.
Would definitely purchase again. Would also be so good to be able to buy this in a bigger bottle or a pump bottle!

I have been using the Manuka Oil balm for 2 weeks. I aim to use it everyday but realistically it’s more like every second day. I have a few stubborn patches of psoriasis (knees and elbows) that I have had for YEARS. I used steroid cream for a long time. It got rid of the majority of my psoriasis and definitely has its place, in my opinion, however I chose to stop using it to give my skin a break from that kind of treatment.
I am very pleased with how the balm has alleviated the constant itchiness and the dry scaly look. I have already recommended it to 2 family members.

I have been using this balm on my daughters (2 years old) flare up spots and it has significantly reduced her flare ups & itching. On the rare occasion she does itch she asks for me to put some cream on for instant relief.

I had previously posted that I had used the DG cream for my daughter and that it had worked everywhere on her body except her face. Following some feedback from Karen (proprietor) to use the Active 8 Serum and then applying the cream on afterwards to lock in the serum, my daughter's face has completely cleared up! It took approx 3 days and I only applied it at night while she was asleep. AMAZING!!!!

I love the products my skin has never felt better no more steroid cream needed. Thanks

My skin has never felt, smelled or looked so good. No longer dry and friends have commented on how radiant it looks. The beautiful smell is the best thing to relax me at night. Amazing products filled with natural goodness. Can't recommend more highly.

The absorption of radiance lotion is almost instantaneous it leaves my skin in a lovely hydrated state and with a delicate refreshing fragrance. Love it.

I cannot believe how amazing this product is for cold sores!
I felt the dreaded tingle so grabbed the tube from my sons room (amazing for his acne!) and started using it straight away. 4 times a day for 3 days and it was invisible!!!
It didn’t swell up, blister, crack and bleed as it usually would. In fact, all I could see was a tiny little pin head dot on my lip. I could feel it was there but it was almost invisible! 1 week on and it’s like I never even had a cold sore. I’m recommending this to everyone from now on.

I arrived at the pharmacy as soon as it opened this morning, such was my desperation to ease my intensely itchy eczema, which had flared up two days prior, during Christmas. Nothing I'd tried at home was working and I was definitely feeling a bit sorry for myself. I cannot describe the relief this product has given me, I'm a much happier little Vegemite today! 😍

Used for my 4month olds eczema and within 3 days his whole chest was cleared up & smooth again.
Also gave to my sister in law for her daughters eczema behind her knees and arms had the same results.

I bought this cream & the Manuka balm after it being recommended on a Mums grapevine Facebook page. We have been on steroid cream for flare ups since she was 14 months old.
After using the manuka cream & balm for a week in 30 degree heat we have managed to get her flare ups under control and her skin feels like silk!!
I will be recommending this product to EVERY one I know!!

‘A great all-rounder for skin irritations’
I mainly used the Cream on Logan’s eczema and, and generally over his whole body. Logan had other sores and skin irritations. We used twice a day and noticed results probably within the first week. The balm I used for more specific spot applications such as cold sores and insect bites. I also saw results very quickly. They smell amazing, they are a natural product and friendly to even the youngest skin and the Cream was easily absorbed into the skin. Highly recommend. I feel it is a great all-rounder for skin irritations not only eczema.

‘We had a fantastic result with DermaGen Manuka Oil Balm’
DermaGen exceeded my expectations. We have used many products that stated they were the ‘cure’ for eczema and none have ever lived up to the hype. We had a fantastic result with DermaGen Manuka Oil Balm and it only took roughly three weeks to see our results. I loved how easy they were to use as well as how quickly it absorbed into the skin. There was no sticky or oily residue left on Harper’s skin. They also had a fantastic smell to them and didn’t smell like a ‘cream’, especially the balm, with the lavender smell it helped with calm downtime between bath and bed.

FAQ
Being allergic to bee venom is different to being allergic to bee-products. Propolis is made from bee's saliva and pollen, resin and plant extracts. A bee's sting contains the toxin melittin and is meant to discourage potential threats from coming close to the hive and queen bee. It is meant to induce an extremely painful and uncomfortable reaction. A bee uses it's saliva and mixes it with tree resin and pollen to make glue or propolis to patch up it's hive. Propolis exists to keep the hive safe from microbial contamination.
Sometimes repeated exposure to something can increase your risk of developing an allergy to ie, for example a very small percentage of bees keepers who developed a propolis allergy after 9 years of handling it every day. 9 years of regular, daily exposure to a product is a long time to be constantly exposed to something. Most people would only use a product when they needed to. Unlike antibiotics, the use of essential oils such as Manuka Oil has been shown to not cause resistance or tolerance. That means it's effectiveness does not decrease over time.
Certificate of analysis provided gives us the amount of propolis content and flavonoids in a batch. We also ensure there are no trace contaminants such as Lead, Mercury or Arsenic.
Spray with a toner on clean skin, then massage a few drops of an oil serum, followed by a cream to seal in the oils. Just using an oil serum on it's own will not replace the moisture in the skin. Moisture or water is contained in a cream, not a balm or oil.
A balm does not contain water, so has no preservatives or alcohol which may cause stinging on broken, raw and inflamed skin. Whan the skin is in that condition, it is generally more sensitive and reactive. A balm is also better suited for skin that needs intensive treatment with actives as it sits on the skin for longer and allows better penetration of actives. It also contain waxes such as beeswax or candelilla wax (plant version of beeswax) which will increase hydration of the skin by preventing moisture loss from the skin's surface. It acts as a natural barrier when the skin is broken and compromised. It may feel oiler on the face, so a serum or cream would be better for the face.
They can reduce the redness, inflammation, itch and help the skin heal, but it's not a cure if there are allergens that are causing the auto-immune system to flare-up. This can happen if there is leaky gut, a genetic predisposition, or if certain foods or environmental allergens are getting into the system. It's best to get a test done to find out what you are allergic to so you can minimise exposure to the allergen. These products will relieve the symptoms which will then give you more time to look at any changes you can make to improve your health condition. Naturopaths can perform tests to see if there is leaky gut, or if you are allergic or intolerant to certain foods. They can also advise you on how to manage stress which is a big trigger, and what supplements to take to help heal the gut. Victoria Martin is an expert in auto-immune diseases and can help you unravel your symptoms. Get in touch for a chat or to make an appointment.
A patch test can be done to ensure there are no allergic reactions to Propolis, Manuka Oil or Calendula. Most people are not allergic to these actives, but a small percentage of people react to the tea tree family, daisy-family or pollen in the propolis. If you are unsure of allergies to pollen, use the products which does not contain pollen such as the Manuka Oil Balm or Manuka Oil Cream.
