Our Journey: From Personal Struggle to Eco-Conscious Skincare

Every brand has a beginning, and ours started with a personal struggle. As a pharmacist and a mother, I watched my son grapple with the discomfort of eczema. The available treatments, laden with chemicals and steroids, offered temporary relief but came with long-term consequences.

This intimate experience with Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW), eczema, and dermatitis ignited a passion in me to find a better, more natural solution.

I felt I needed to create holistic solutions that went beyond temporary relief.

Our mission became clear....

to craft skincare products that address the root causes, not just the symptoms. With a focus on wound healing and holistic approaches, we delved into nature's treasure trove and discovered the transformative power of Manuka Oil, a sustainable alternative to the widely-used Manuka honey.

Unlike the commonly used Manuka honey, Manuka Oil is a testament to nature's regenerative power.

Plants grow and re-grow, making it a sustainable choice.

On the other hand, relying on bees for honey raises concerns about sustainability and the well-being of these vital insects.

Our vision fastly transcended skincare.

We're passionate advocates for the environment, proudly sponsoring Kings Park's conservation initiatives.

From seed banking research to cultivating new native species, our sponsorship embodies our belief in a harmonious coexistence between beauty and nature.

Furthermore, our dedication to raising awareness about TSW, eczema, and dermatitis has led us to sponsor the Eczema Association of Australasia (EAA)

We're not just a skincare brand; we are a community, a movement towards holistic healing and sustainable beauty, where every product tells a story of care, commitment, and conservation. One that respects both the skin and the planet.

Join us in our mission to redefine skincare, where every product is a testament to our commitment to healing, sustainability, and community.

Trust that as DermaGen by Botanical Chemist evolves, our vision remains steadfast: to offer eco-conscious skincare solutions that harness the power of nature, backed by science.

Pioneering Comprehensive Skincare with Manuka Oil

While many skincare brands offer moisturisation, DermaGen products contain a blend of WA and NZ oils that have unique antiseptic, antiinflammatory and antioxidant properties, ensuring holistic skin healing.

We take pride in being the first and only Australian skincare brand to blend both NZ and WA Manuka Oil.

Each of our Manuka Oil batches are tested to ensure there are sufficient levels of Alpha-pinene and Triketones.

These levels can vary depending on seasons and geographical locations  and we do this to ensure our range and quality we deliver sets us apart from the rest.

While others might use Manuka honey, we champion the transformative benefits of Manuka Oil.

Our commitment to local sourcing signifies more than just quality ingredients. We're evolving as a brand that looks beyond skincare, ensuring a harmonious balance between radiant skin and a thriving planet.

Our passion extends beyond skincare solutions. We proudly allocate a portion of our profits to the Eczema Association Australia (EAA), ITSAN, and now Friends of Kings Park, championing research and the conservation of our precious botanical heritage.

A couple of our customers results

inhibits wound and staph infections

1 - Manuka Oil and Propolis

2 - Broken Skin

On skin that is broken, and inflamed, if there is a bacterial infection, this can delay skin healing, so we need to address the issue of minor infections for the wounds to heal and apply ingredients that help support skin renewal and regeneration.

3 - Moisture

Broken and inflamed skin also loses a lot of moisture as water evaporates through the broken skin.
The natural oils and waxes in our products help form a barrier to minimise the water loss, keeping skin hydrated for longer.

4 - The skin's Microbiome

Our skin is like our gut, it has millions of bacteria, fungal, viruses living on it, in balance, also known as the skin's microbiome.
When the skin is broken, or inflamed, there is a risk that these microorganisms get into the wound and colonise, delaying wound healing.

5 - Immune Response

The bacteria itself releases a toxic allergen called a super-allergen which further triggers the immune system, causing more redness and irritation.
